Have you considered who will deal with your affairs, what you would like to happen and, if appropriate, what will happen to your business?
We can help you to make plans for your succession and for your estate.
Be it business agreements, or inheritance tax planning, wills or applying for probate, we can help.
TIP: Make sure you have a will and keep it up to date.
The estate administration process
Unless successfully contested, the distribution of a person’s estate is determined either by the terms of their will or, if there isn’t a will, by the rules of intestacy.
We will ascertain all assets and liabilities at the date of death and complete the relevant tax and court forms to obtain the grant of probate (if there is a will) or letters of administration (if no will).
Once probate has been obtained, we will close accounts, sell or transfer assets and pay bills, costs and any tax.
We can ensure that any Inheritance, Capital Gains and Income tax due is paid and obtain confirmation from H M Revenue & Customs that their files are closed.
Finally, we produce estate accounts and distribute monies between the beneficiaries. Interim payments can be made to beneficiaries, where possible.
